Breakfast sandwich with apple and vegetarian sausage
The combination of savory sausage with sweet raisin bread and jam is designed to awaken your taste buds. This delicious sandwich comes together in 5 minutes, but is packed with protein and fiber to keep you going all morning.
Ingredients
2 slices cinnamon raisin bread, preferably whole grain
1 frozen vegetarian sausage patty
1 teaspoon raspberry jam
4 thin apple slices
2 tablespoons shredded cheddar cheese
Directions
Toast the bread. Microwave sausage until hot, about 30 seconds, or according to package instructions. Crumble. Spread jam on 1 slice of toast. Top with sausage, apple slices, cheese and remaining slice of toast. Cut in half and serve.
